EMS-Day 2020: The future will come sooner than expected

On 3 September 2020, GPV participated in the annual EMS-Day in Würzburg, Germany. Every year, the European EMS industry meets to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the EMS business. This was the 18th. time and this year with a record number of participants.

From GPV, Bo Lybæk, CEO and Thomas Kaiser, EVP Sales participated.

“We were confirmed in the fact that digitalisation gives the EMS-industry significant potential, especially in connecting the supply chain better. The EMS industry is one of the core industries supporting mega trends like IoT and IIoT (Industrial IoT) where we are the “T” of Things as provider of the electronics hardware. We also got a quite positive statement from Bank Julius Bär that the coronavirus crisis is expected to be a V-crisis – so we have to get ready for the future as it will come sooner than expected,” reports Bo Lybæk, CEO at GPV, after his participation in the event.

The EMS-Day was about business and the future of the EMS business. However, there was also room for saying a big thank you to the “big EMS professional” Johann Weber, from Zollner who is now entering into his third age.

Later this year, GPV publishes its Annual Magazine, where one of the speakers from the EMS-Day, Dieter G. Weiss gives his take on the future of EMS. Subscribe to receive your copy of the magazine here.
