Covid-19; Situation update for GPV production sites on 19 March 2020

As the Covid-19 situation worldwide continues to become more and more widespread, it is important for us inform all customers about their deliveries from all our production sites.

We will update the situation every second day, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The customer order situation is individually handled through direct GPV contact persons.

GPV Electronics in Sri Lanka
On 19 March 2020, the Government of Sri Lanka declared that the national holiday will be extended until 27 March 2020. However, export oriented manufacturing enterprises are allowed to resume production applying to strict measures, which means that GPV Electronics LK will reopen on Friday 20 March 2020, though with reduced capacity.

We will update the situation in Sri Lanka when changes to the current situation occur. Our customer responsibles will contact all affected customers.

A special task force including sales, global sourcing and shipping is closely monitoring the development to secure the scheduled, steady flow of supplies so that we can maintain production at full speed. Furthermore, we work closely with our supply chain partners to obtain forecast with regards to potential disruption of deliveries of goods.

Consider current open orders and related logistics
Our freight forwarders have informed us that limited flight and container capacity can result in delays in transit time and cause prices to rise. Therefore, we recommend all customers to consider open orders as well as related logistics.

All affected customers will be contacted directly by their direct GPV contact person to discuss priorities wherever needed. We will do all we can to accommodate these needs in a fast and flexible manner.
